Preparations are now underway to kick off the country’s biggest grassroots football tournament, the Besta FA Cup regional championships.
The tournament will see football associations throughout the country taking part across four locations.
The Lae Football Association will host the Momase leg from July 11-14, in what is expected to have fierce rivals LFA, Lahi and the Morobe Football Association.
Arawa has been given a chance to host the NGI leg from July 24-27, and Goroka will host the Highlands leg at the National Sports Institute from July 31-Aug 4.
The Koupa Soccer Association will host the Southern leg at Kaparoko village from Aug 7-11.
Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) competition Manager Simon Koima said the participation fee was K500 per team for member associations and K560 per side for associate members.
“All payments to be paid into the PNGFA operations account (No. 7002171143) at the BSP Waigani branch,” a PNGFA statement said yesterday.
“If you need assistance and information on the competition forms and requirements, then contact the four regional development officers.
“They are Robert Upaiga (73113479) for Highlands, John Forova (76500626/71359721) for Southern, Tonga Esira (70386350/76150227) for the New Guinea Islands and Haiveta Kivia (71504945) for Mamose.”
