Face challenges to see true meaning of life, says a driver

Yoanis Eiankin, a driver with the National Capital District Commission (NCDC), loves his job.
The 58-year-old from Wabag, Enga, is a mechanic by profession.
He also runs his workshop at Hohola.
Eiankin sees life as a journey.
He said in order to overcome challenges you have to face them.
He said facing challenges would allow one to find satisfaction and true meaning to life.
Eiankin received training as a mechanic from Koki Vocational School, Port Moresby, in 1979.
While at school, he worked as a trainee mechanic with Pacific Engineering.
After graduation, he was self-employed, fixing cars on the streets or at his client’s convenience.
Eiankin eventually set up his own workshop.
He then joined Air Express Service where he worked for a year.
Eiankin later joined the Teachers’ Savings and Loans Society (TSALS) working as a driver.
After a two-year stint with TSALS, he worked at his workshop.
While working at home, NCDC advertised for drivers. Eiankin applied and was pleased to be accepted. He had been working with NCDC the past four years.
He is currently driving one of the free service buses for students.
Eiakin is happily married with four kids.
