Facebook incident

Letters

IT was sad to have read last week about a young woman taking her own life as a result of bullying on Facebook or other social media.
I am appealing to the Police Minister Bryan Kramer and our police commissioners to start a probe on all those people who photo-shopped the young woman’s pics or made fun of her photos in their comments.
We cannot allow stupid people like those bullies to be using other people’s photos and making fun of them.
That is childish.
Now, we find, that can also cause the death of someone else.
Let us have those bullies found out, prosecuted and penalised to set the precedence in an effort to cut down on cyberbullying.
I am of the view that many of those bullies are educated people who like making fun of others for no other reason than to see the pain and stress inflicted on their subjects.
I am sure too that there are others who are using the photos of young women as their profile pic with an aim of bullying or harassing them.
Such actions are usually committed by jealous former boyfriends or unsuccessful suitors.
Our laws must address such issues too to protect the rights of individuals, including those of the vulnerable among us.
Please Kramer and police commissioners, let us act fast and find those bullies and prosecute them.
That would be a good start to prevent similar evil acts in the future.
