Facelift for Hohola Special Education Resource Centre

THE Red Cross Hohola Special Education Resource Centre has upgraded its ablution block and playground facilities – thanks to Bank South Pacific.The initiative is part of the bank’s 2012 community project.
The bank’s Waigani branch gave the facelift to the ablution block and children’s playground with the help of local contractor Defco.Waigani branch general manager Peter Beswick said the bank was pleased to help at the community level and looked forward to doing more.
He commended staff for taking the lead in the K20,000 improvement work.
“It is pleasing to note that the success of our community projects are the result of our staff who take time off weekends and work with communities to deliver such worthy projects,” Beswick said.
Branch manager Stanley Bole said the help came after the bank noticed the need to support children with special needs develop their social skills.He urged staff, students and community members to look after the improved facilities.Red Cross general secretary Gerau Podi praised the bank for choosing the Hohola Special Resource Centre as one of its targeted community projects.
“BSP is not only a bank but is part of the community,” she said.
The Special Resource Centre caters for around 300 children.
