TWO factions from the Baiyer district in Western Highlands signed an agreement last Sunday to make peace over the death of 25 people killed in a road accident.
The people of Ukini-Andakalkam paid K180,000 and gave 500 pigs to the Muaiwu people following the road incident which happened in April 2013.
The event was witnessed by the Secretary of the Constitutional Law Reform Commission Dr Eric Kua, Professor John Nonggor, lawyer Paul Paraka and local MP Koi Trappe.
Kua praised the people for sorting the issue in an amicable manner.
He said people in the Highlands were well known for tribal fights.
“But now you have changed your mind and settled the problem in an amicable way,” he said.
