MADANG police will now be out in full force thanks to a generous allocation by Sumkar MP Ken Fairweather.
Provincial police commander Supt Anthony Wagambie Junior commended the MP saying his support in helping to provide manpower and logistics would help in their task of cutting down crime and catching criminals.
The MP gave K50,000 to fully maintain police house and police station at Bunabun government station and a Toyota 10-seater vehicle, which would be used as a mini response unit.
Wagambie said with the funds, police personnel would be based there while the Taladik police station would assist in enforcing law and order along the highway.
Meanwhile, Fairweather said the increase in criminal activities was affecting all levels of the society.
He said this was the reason he decided to assist the police to make the electorate crime-free.
The MP has also purchased motorcycles and three new vehicles for the force.
