Faithful to bring Bible to Parliament
The National, Thursday September 10th, 2015
THE 400-year old King James version of the Holy Bible from the US will be brought into Parliament House by a procession organised by pastors and churches on Sept 16, an official said.
Secretary for Parliament Services Danny Puli said Speaker Theodore Zurenuoc allowed pastors to take the Bible during the 40th Independence anniversary celebration.
Puli said: “The Bible remains a national treasure by motion in Parliament.”
He said the Bible would only be released on request by MPs and combined denominations or pastors coming together but not individuals.
Pastor Michael Wilson from Body of Christ said pastors and churches were happy to take the procession.
“We will have our hands on to participate in God’s business and carry on,” Wilson said.
He said the procession would be made known to Parliament once the churches finalised the programme.
