Fake K20 in Morata

National, Normal

A MORATA resident who used a fake K20 note to buy goods from a tradestore was caught last Sunday night. However, he was released by the shop owner after being “detained” for some time.
Shop owner George Yangen, 26, said the customer had ordered a K5 flex card and a packet of cigarettes before handing over the K20 which was apparently fake because it did not have the central bank logo and optics security thread.
The youth pleaded several times that he was not aware that he was using a faked bank note.
Mr Yangen freed the perpetrator after warning him not to fool again with him.
Meanwhile, attempts to get comments from BPNG were unsuccessful.
