Families helping make Origin safer

Origin Energy PNG celebrated 1000 consecutive days without lost time injury (LTI) on Monday.
Lost time injury is the number of days that an employee is absent from work due to a work-related injury.
In the lead-up to this, a safety campaign engaged staff and their families in regular safety conversations at home.
The campaign involved getting employees’ children to participate in a safety poster competition illustrating why their parent should stay safe while at work.
The posters will be put up at all Origin offices and terminals to remind staff why working safe is important.
“Safety is a core value to Origin and a way of life,” says Origin chief executive Lesieli Taviri. “At the end of each day, we want our staff to go home to their families safe. That’s all that matters.”
