Family builds, donates worship altar to Buimo inmates

A FAMILY in Lae has helped the Christian community at Buimo Correctional Services by donating an altar, something the inmates have been requesting for over seven years.
The Kaukesa family, led by Joel Amos, bought materials after receiving a request from a family member, Jonathan Kaukesa who was an inmate and built the altar.
“The altar is for their fellowship,” Amos said.
“They needed one for almost seven years and when we heard about it, we decided to help.
“The inmates told us it was a need in their church.
“This will go a long way in building and moulding them spiritually.
“We wanted to be a part of their spiritual programme at Buimo.”
Amos said many people were not aware of what inmates went through in prison and did not do much to help.
He said as a family, they were willing to help and take part in rehabilitating the prisoners to become good people in the communities when they are released.
Amos thanked the CS at Buimo and others for their support.
