WITH the Pacific Games capturing the imagination of the nation, families are glued to the TV in the evenings to catching the action and news of their favourite team.

For one family, the Niganis from Kira Kira village in NCD but based in Lae, a rather desperate search took place to locate souvenirs from the 9th South Pacific Games which they had kept for 24 years.

Dad Heni said the Games was staged in Port Moresby and Lae in September 1991, coinciding with the 25th Independence anniversary of the country.

“Even though this year’s Pacific Games is being held in Port Moresby, it will not stop us from supporting and cheering for Team PNG,” he said.
