Family firm backs touch footy

 A LOCAL catering firm, Emmy’s Bakery and Catering Service Ltd (EBCS) continued its support to help support PNG Open men and women’s touch team to the Queensland State Championship, which runs from August 1-3.

While the PNG Sports Olympic Committee has funded the trip under its Go for Gold programme, the logistics, including balls, training gear, water bottles and others, are some of the things the Sports Foundation has not provided.

All these have been provided by EBCS three days before the team travels to Brisbane.

The drive to serve Papua New Guineans is something that has got EBCS managing director Edward Mimino and family to give what they can to help.

Their support to organisations, including the Touch Federation of PNG and individuals, is a testimony to many.

Not only that, the local company has supported its staff to help with further training and study.  

This will not be the first time the compnay is sponsoring touch football in PNG. 

Early this year, it supported the same squad that attended a tournament.
