Family happy to operate business in Lae

AN Australian family-owned company says they are excited to do business in Lae, Morobe, after establishing its branch at the Malahang Industrial Centre.
The Don Kyatt (DK) Group of Companies under its brand name Terrain Tamer 4WD, brings to Lae its 50 years of experience specialising in modifying and supplying stronger 4WD (four-wheel drive) spare parts. Australian-based general manager Brent Hutchinson said: “Lae is an exciting place for us because it is a new frontier for us in business as it opens us to access rest of Papua New Guinea though Port Moresby is important for us since establishing operations there two years ago.”
Hutchison said they had confidence in PNG’s business climate.
“In Lae, already we’re supplying six mine sites and it’s a success and working very well for us,” he said.
“We’re very optimistic but one thing amazing is that not many other Australian family business are established in Lae.
“We airfreight every week, providing free customer services.
“We’re optimistic.”
