Patrick Tore, from Gulf, is the winner of a seven-metre banana boat in a competition run by Stop and Shop in Port Moresby.
Stop and Shop marketing manager Regina Narokobi presented the boat with a 40-horse power engine and life jackets to
Tore and his family yesterday. Narokobi said the competition ran for six weeks from July 17 to Aug 31.
Customers who had spent at least K80 in any of its eight stores in Port Moresby were eligible to enter the competition.
Tore said his family shopped at Stop and Shop.
He had entered the competition many times and was happy to be the winner.
He said his father used to own a banana boat.
“We are people from the coast so this boat will really help us back in the village,” Tore said.
He thanked Stop and Shop for rewarding its customers.
The draw was done at the Stop and Shop Central Waigani store. It was officiated by PNG Pepes netballer Serena Ovia.
