PAPUA New Guinea’s Coffee Industry Corporation says a World Bank-funded initiative has helped to link coffee farmers to markets.
The Productive Partnership Agriculture Project, implemented by the PNG Cocoa Board and the Coffee Industry Corporation, is nearing completion after 10 years. It has helped to support farmers rehabilitate various plots around PNG where the country’s former leading cash crop grows.
Corporation chief executive Charles Dambui said the project has achieved much with minimal expenditure. “The aim of the project is to improve the livelihoods of our farmers and increase the income that they are receiving, So we have been implementing that project, very successful.”
