THE Papua New Guinea Darts Federation will stage its Champion of Champions Championships from Sept 13-17 at the Hideaway Hotel in Port Moresby.
Federation president John Kuaru said the national tournament was for the champion clubs from each of its member associations.
Kuaru said that associations not affiliated to the federation would not be allowed to compete and advised association executives to be aware of their status before making any commitments.
“The associations that affiliated with the PNG Darts Federation this year are the ones that are eligible to compete at this championship,” Kuaru said.
The affiliation fees are K500 (per association), K250 (club), and K50 per player.
Kuaru said the deadline for the payment of the fees by those associations intending to come to Port Moresby was Aug 31.
He added that the associations that had already affiliated to the federation earlier this year were allowed to send their top two clubs to the championship.
Kuaru said due to a lack of adequate funds the organisers were not able to assist clubs attend the championship.
He said clubs and their associations had to self-fund for travel (airfares) and accommodation.
Kuaru said the Lae Darts Association and the Lahi Darts Association had put in a joint bid to host the next championship in the Morobe capital next year.
