THE bodies of three women were recovered from the Kamaliki River in Eastern Highlands.

Police officers found the third body at around 2pm yesterday.

Locals and police officers at the scene said the women had visible injuries to parts of their bodies with hands and legs cut off.

The length of time in the river had bleached the bodies white.

“We believe that these women were killed at the same time.

“They were thrown into the river and their bodies were washed ashore at different locations along the river bank,” a Kamaliki local said.

Eastern Highlands provincial police commander Supt John Kale could not be contacted for comments.
