Female students encouraged to work hard
STUDENTS from Caritas Technical Secondary School have been encouraged to work hard and achieve big things in life by National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop.
Parkop said this during the school’s technical day celebrated last Thursday.
He encouraged students at the all-girls school to focus on school and achieve their goals.
Parkop said currently in PNG, there were fewer women in leadership and management positions in business and public institutions.
He said even Parliament had no female MPs and this needed to change.
Parkop encouraged girls to work hard and be leaders of the country.
The school holds its technical day annually to showcase its academic and technical programmes as well as other ventures and programmes the students are involved in.
Some of the activities included, baking, cooking and sewing where students displayed their products and skills are rewarded accordingly.
The school did not have the day last year because of the Covid-19.
