Festival expected to attract more

 BANK South Pacific is partnering the East New Britain Tourism Authority (ENBTA) in staging the 2013 Warwagira and 19th Mask Festival.

Since its inception, the Warwagira and Mask Festival has grown from strength to strength, making it one of the most anticipated events festivals on the national cultural calendar.

The festival has always attracted large crowds to East New Britain and has provided fun filled days of traditional singsing from across the New Britain region, as well as from neighbouring island and mainland provinces.

To be held from July 17-21 the festival is expected to be the best yet, with an array of cultural performances expected to feature in the five-day event.

Bank Kokopo branch manager Albert Burua (pictured) said: “As the only locally-owned bank, BSP is proud to partner with the ENBTA in putting together this much anticipated event, and as such has agreed to be a gold sponsor of the festival. 

“This partnership between BSP and the East New Britain Tourism Promotion Authority has been in place since 2011, and we are proud to be supporting this event again this year.”
