I commend ExxonMobil and its joint venture partners, including the Southern Highlands provincial government, for signing the telecommunications project agreement.
Telecommunication is an important facility and the fibre optic cable will support and underpin the economic activities.
While the landowners are fighting over seed capital and MoA funds, Governor Anderson Agiru is on the look-out for new opportunities.
He was against the PNG-Queensland gas pipeline project and we now have the LNG project.
He wanted his Hela “pig” to be killed and butchered on his home-soil and not be piped to an unknown land faraway in Australia.
The fibre optics deal is one of many things to come for Southern Highlands and Hela.
