Fights set for September

San Kamap Promotions has been given approval by the PNG Professional Boxing Commission (PNGPBC) to stage the national titles on September 14 in Port Moresby.
SKP official, Alex Rihatta, confirmed that the PNG titles is the lead-up to international bouts scheduled for September 28.
Rihatta thanked PNGPBC board chairman, Bernard Fong for his endorsement and support of the event.
Rihatta confirmed that PNG light welterweight title holder Keven Baki will challenge AROB’s wonder boy Vincent Kokovi in the national titles.
This is a lead-up fight for Baki who will face Townsville champ Derek Webber later in the month.
He said the event will be staged at the Ben Moide Club, Murray Barracks.
This will be the first professional fight in seven months.
It is not known whether local boxers have prepared for the event.
In the same weight division, Theo Torot faces tough contention from AROB’s Elias Pasa.
Pasa is scheduled to fight with another Australian but this is still to be confirmed.
Rihatte urged all boxers and trainers to pay up their license fees of K100 and K50 respectively.
He said all fighters must get medical clearance to take part.
