THE Fiji-Papua New Guinea Business Council has begun looking into trade logistics between the two countries.

Chairman Kevin McCarthy said the council was devising issues around shipping, quarantine and customs.

Fiji and PNG recently agreed to free flow of trade to enhance their respective economic developments and the Pacific region as a whole.

Exporters and importers of both countries are concerned with current policies on shipping, quarantine and customs which they say could affect trade.

The Fiji trade mission to PNG last month was dubbed a success as the bilateral agreements were brokered by the prime ministers of both countries. – Fiji News
