Fijian prop says PNG supporters are ‘amazing’

LAE Snax Tigers prop Tikiko Noke, pictured, is proud to win the Digicel Cup after his side beat the Wigmen 15-4 in Port Moresby on Sunday.
The 110 kg Fijian was lost for words when he was interviewed after the game.
He told The National that playing rugby league in front of such a boisterous crowd was a first in his career.
“This is just amazing. I wasn’t part of such an atmosphere before,” Noke said.
“The supporters of both sides were cheering on every play and it was great to play in front of them.”
In only his second season in the Digicel Cup after being recruited by the Tigers mid-season last year, Noke said the Digicel Cup was tougher compared with the local competitions in his home country.
“The difference is the fitness, we don’t have the same kind of training like the Digicel Cup because of the lack of funding and support of the game but in terms of physicality and pressure, it’s the same back in Fiji,” he said.
