A POLICE constable facing a wilful murder charge in relation to a Rainbow shooting in Port Moresby on June 6, had his case adjourned to Sept 9.
Waigani Committal Court Magistrate Garry Unjo adjourned the case of Andrew Kupusu and remanded him as his files were not ready.
He read his charge on June 26, and the case was adjourned to yesterday but was not brought to court from the Boroko holding cells.
The case was further adjourned as it was still within the generally-allowed three months period.
Kupusu, 26, of Chambri village, Wosera-Gawi, East Sepik, was alleged to have killed Ronald Colip at the Rainbow Estate bus stop.
Kupusu, attached to the task force known by the call sign Fox 204 was on duty. They drove to the bus stop along the main road at about 5pm and dispersed vendors selling betel nuts.
All vendors escaped and the deceased was walking towards a PMV bus when Kupusu stepped out of his vehicle, unzipped his waist bag, drew a pistol and shot the deceased, who fell instantly to the ground.

  • What was he thinking, pulled out his pistol and shooting someone who was unarmed, useless officer. Hopefully justice is served well.

  • Use less drug addicts street culprits recruited into the police force are painting the good royal serving department with bad actions and styles thinking they are heroes or what???
