Final preparations are underway as athletes and officials look forward to the Theodist National Championships this month.
The annual competition is set to be held at the Taurama Aquatic and Indoor Centre from March 29-31.
The championships will bring together talented and aspiring athletes from around the country and overseas who will compete for a spot on the final team travelling to the 16th Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa.
Among the athletes competing for a spot on the team are Commonwealth Games representatives Sam Seghers, Ryan Maskleyne, Josh Tarere and Leonard Kalate.
Fina Short Course World Championships representatives Rahema Kalate and Georgia-Leigh Vele will also be in action during the three-day event.
Swimmers will also compete with the hope of swimming personal best times, capturing a PNG record in the process and to become a part of the BSP Kundu National Aquatic Excellence squads.
These include the junior silver and gold, intermediate silver and gold and the bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond target squads.
Meanwhile, Papua New Guinea Swimming Incorporated has praised Theodist Limited for its continued sponsorship and promotion of the event, allowing the organisation to provide a platform for its athletes to showcase their talent.
