MORE than 200 staff from the Finance and Treasury Department were at the airport late yesterday afternoon to receive the body of late Christopher Kalebo, the deputy secretary Finance.
“Welcome Home Boss” was the placard carried by mourning Finance and Treasury staff that led the casket out of the tarmac into a wailing crowd of staff and family members.
The late Kalebo was in Madang to send his wife and children to Manus for Christmas holidays, but they returned with the coffin of their late husband and father to Port Moresby to a haus krai.
Finance secretary Gabriel Yer, Treasury secretary Simon Tosali, former National Planning secretary Valentine Kambori and former Finance minister Chris Haiveta received the body of late Kalebo.
The funeral programme will be published in The National tomorrow.
The late Kalebo died suddenly in the early hours of Tuesday, the date when his wife and children were to fly home to Manus for Christmas holidays.
They all returned yesterday with the late husband and father.
The late Mr Kalebo was deputy secretary (strategy) with the Finance Department when he first joined in 2005.
He is survived by his wife Nancy and six children – Constable, Milikah, Ebony, Michaelyn, Michlah, Kotarua and Chris (Jr).
