THE integrated financial management system is being used at Kokopo police station in East New Britain, police say.
Police commander Senior Inspector Joseph Tabali said an Eftpos machine was installed in the ICT room at the police station on Monday.
He said Kokopo police station was the second after Boroko police station in Port Moresby.
“As of Monday, there will not be any cash bails accepted at the station and if a suspect is arrested and charged for a criminal offence, they must have a bank card to swipe using the machine for bail,” Tabali said.
He said the system had been also set up at the Kokopo and Kerevat courthouses to cater for child maintenance payments.
