COUNTING for the Tewai-Siassi Open electorate should be moved to Lae because of a firearms build-up in the area, Isaac Naroi said.
The former provincial government representative in the Morobe province claimed that there was a build-up of firearms in the Sialum local government area in Finschhafen.
Naroi also suggested that the electoral commissioner should seriously consider moving the counting venue for the Tewai-Siassi Open electorate to Lae.
Narol said there was a security concern after reports that people were bringing firearms into Sialum.
Siassi Island is off the coast of Finschhafen.
He said Lae was a safer counting centre.
