Firm delivers medical equipment

OFFICERS from health services company Green TeleMed Limited were in West New Britain since Monday to deliver medical equipment to Kimbe Provincial Hospital.
The company’s biomedical engineer Arun Prasad said the Green TeleMed’s aim was to provide quality service with quality equipment
to all provinces.
Green TeleMed is a private company which bought medical equipment from the Department of Health after they won a tender for it.
Prasad said the officers finished their three-day work in the pro vince visiting each of the hospital wards to collect feedbacks from the staff on the usage of the equipment, which was delivered to them on Monday and Tuesday.
“The company formed teams of three to visit the four regions of Papua New Guinea and delivered specific medical equipment received from the Departement of Health,” he said.
“The team that visited West New Britain comprised of two biomedical engineers, Venkatesan Moorthy, biomedical technician Marphy Malaga and myself.”
Prasad said the medical equipment which Green TeleMed was delivering to the provinces included operating lamps, patient monitors/defibrillators, electro surgical units, operating tables, ventilators, pump syringes, oximeters, warmer solutions, breast pumps, foetoscopes, electrical bench sterilisers and phototherapy lamps.
“In Kimbe hospital, these equipment were delivered specifically to the operating theatre, the nursery wards, maternity wards and the medical wards along with training conducted by the team to the hospital staff on how to use the equipment,” he said.
Prasad said the three officers delivered equipment to all New Guinea Islands region except for Manus and the Autonomous Region of Bougainville which they would during their next visit.
