Firm focuses on meeting demand for vehicle parts

High demand for vehicle parts in the country has seen Australian business Don Kyatt Group trading as Terrain Tamer 4WD in the PNG market, managing director Frank Hutchinson says.
He said a reliable vehicle was a requirement for getting around a country like PNG that consisted almost entirely of remote locations and rugged mountainous terrain.
Terrain Tamer has a range of more than 40,000km and spare parts support and emergency services beneficial to farmers, mining contractors, sub-contractors and recreational four-wheel drive (4WD) enthusiasts in more than 80 countries.
Hutchinson said the company had been in the country for more than 18 months and employed seven locals at its Port Moresby branch.
He said the company plans to expand to Lae. “We’re growing every week,” he said.
“We employ local people and train them to be qualified spare parts people.”
Hutchinson said they sold quality parts at competitive prices specifically for Toyota vehicles.
