LEADING road building and civil engineering firm Global Construction distributed 32 boxes containing 1600 Trukai Fun Run t-shirts to five schools in Port Moresby.
Global was among a list of corporate supporters of the annual fundraising event who bid for t-shirts at the auction staged by Trukai Industries recently.
The t-shirts, which cost the company K23,000 on auction night at the Royal Papua Yacht Club last week, have the Global logo emblazoned on the front. Company secretary and executive officer Nelson Yano distributed the merchandise to the two secondary and three primary schools.
The schools that received the t-shirts were Bavaroko Primary, Don Bosco Technical School, Marianville Secondary, Bukuta Primary and Taurama Primary schools.
The primary schools recieved 300 t-shirts each while the secondary schools got 310 (Marianville) and 350 (Don Bosco) t-shirts.
Yano, when giving presenting the t-shirts to Don Bosco Technical Secondary school staff and students last Thursday, said the firm was pleased to be part of the annual event and proud to be helping schools in the community.
Don Bosco rector Father Roger Miranda commended the firm for sponsoring the students for the July event.
“These that we have chosen are schools which are close to us in terms of our operations and business,” Yano said.
