A STATIONERY shop in Goroka on Tuesday donated books to a school on the border of Eastern Highlands and Chimbu.
PBJ Stationery shop, based in Goroka, gave text books, teachers resource books and library books to Keto Primary School.
General manager James Sipa, who gave the books to school, said they should help enhance learning for the students.
School board of management chairman Gunere Samuel Fure acknowledged the support from Sipa.
“This is the first time in the 10 years history of this school to receive such presentations from any private organisation,” he said.
Community leader Peter Miori said the school needed books and resource materials such as these to enhance its progress, though they receive assistance of infrastructure development from donors and government subsidies.
Teacher Luvao Sheron said it was a ‘day of blessing’ for the school and that learning was not conducive without resource books and materials.
“Your donation will be long remembered, and will go a long way to help the students learning in the school,” she said.
Sheron said resource materials is one of the seven focus areas to enhance students learning.
