A LAE-based electrical firm, Giluwe Engineering has repaired the two power poles and lines chopped down six months ago at Karape Pangi in the Tambul electorate of Western Highlands.

Firm owner James Steven spent K10,000 of his money to have the lines fixed.

Steven said he felt for the people of the district as only a few “idiots” had caused the damage.

“We, the people of the district, must make it our business to look after the services that are provided by the government,” he said.

“If we are careless, then we could become the victim.”

Steven said power from Tomba junction to Tambul was put in by the provincial government.

“I appeal to the people of this nation that we must not show our frustration by damaging government property when we are not satisfied with what people in authority do because services are provided basically for us to use,” he said.

The people of Tambul were delighted that the lines were repaired and power back on.
