“Try and take advantage of the opportunity because professional will help you advance,” he said.
Staff member Esron Wakaundi described it as a great opportunity to earn an IEA Tafe qualification and thanked Duckworth for his support.
Tafe manager Chris Jones said the training course would help to improve the participant’s skills and help them become professionals in each of their departments.

  • Tininga Ltd has done a very wise decision to train its employees in Management roles. The more you up skill your employees you will avoid employing even expats. Our people needs to upgrade their skill and we can do it when such initiatives are put in place by companies in PNG. Dept of Labour & Employment should drive this initiative and support. At present Dept of Labour & Employment is sleeping and collecting money from Asian/Companies and not doing their job – Training Localisation. This is even in mining companies are experiencing a lot of expats brought in all kinds of “made-up” positions but these expats are not skilled like some of our PNG nationals. Hope the Marape-Steven Govt can look into Labour & Employment dept asap.

If Tininga Ltd can do it other companies can do it and MUST COMPLY with Training & Locaisation clause. Well done Tininga Ltd, build on your manpower!
