THE Souths Naikos rugby league club of Port Moresby have had their finals chances boosted with a K20,000 commitment from the Pesi Business Development Corporation.

Souths, who will play off in the elimination round against Dobo Warriors this weekend, are determined to give back confidence to the Southern Highlands-based company by going all the way to the grand final in two weeks.

The Mendi-based based company is headed by managing director Epi Komal, who said his company was known for partnering Southern Highlands sporting groups.

He said he felt the new link would foster a positive outlook for his company and the players.

During the presentation, Komal said the club must now look after themselves to keep up with the changing times ahead.

“We have to think outside the box to ensure the Souths name is maintained at a respectable level and continues to strive financially as well,” Komal said.

“I am coming on board but it is you the players, coaches and club officials who must start organising yourselves better to reach high standards.”

Komal wished the players good luck in the playoffs and confirmed his company would sponsor them to take part in the Ipatas Cup.

Club president James Hol said final fever for them was not new as they had been there and won premierships.
