THE Lae Biscuit Company yesterday donated 40 hockey sticks to support the development of the code in the country.
Port Moresby-based Lae Biscuit managing director Fabian Chow donated the sticks to Papua New Guinea Hockey Federation president Kaluwin Potuan and secretary-general Thomas Kahai at Lae Biscuit office at Gerehu 6.
Potuan thanked Chow and his brother, Ian Chow, who have supported the Lae Hockey Federation and PNG Hockey Federation.
Potuan said the help came at the right time for the national hockey federation capacity-building programme and the introduction of schools hockey in the provinces.
“This is not the first time for Lae Biscuit to help. They did a similar presentation some eight years ago for junior and senior hockey sticks and balls worth more than K15,000,” Potuan said.
“We are so grateful and thank Lae Biscuit for their on-going and generous support for hockey and for supporting other sports in the country.”
