A PROPERTY company is the latest gold sponsor of the Miss PNG and Miss Pacific pageants with a K100,000 contribution.
Pacific Palms Property believes that the two events can help empower women to promote the country.
General manager Gordon McMaster said they felt the need to formally participate “which for this year’s sponsorship include office space and associated sponsorship both in cash and kind”.
Chairperson of the Miss PNG/Miss Pacific Islands pageants Molly O’Rourke said they planned to hold the event at the indoor complex stadium in Port Moresby so that city residents could attend. The last time the regional pageant was held here was 10 years ago.
Reigning Miss PNG and Miss Pacific Leoshina Mercy Kariha said “as much as we are cultural ambassadors, we are also women of the future who are going to bring out a lot of changes”.
“And there has never been a time when a pageant lady has gone to speak on forum or about politics or even our rights as women. So Papua New Guinea is really reaching those milestone achievements,” she said.
