DAVID Valentine, a Cisco network and communication specialist with Datec Ltd, wants to use gaming as a way of spreading awareness on social issues through his organisation 675 Gaming.

Valentine’s another goal is to bring together the gaming community in Port Moresby as he tries to combine his passion for video gaming with elements of social awareness.

“It’s to spread awareness about all the events and activities that are happening around us through gaming,” Valentine said.

“What I’m trying to do is just capture the attention of adolescents.”

He wanted to partner with relevant organisations to provide information on issues such as HIV/AIDS and cancer awareness.

The network tries to create an avenure by bringing together people to compete and share their skills and talents.

In the gathering players compete against each other using multi-player games such as FIFA 16, NBA, Call of Duty and Mortal Combat X. The eventual winner will receive K1000 in prize money.
