The CAB had provided a checklist to the FIA of what was needed in order for the MSC assessment to take place. The workshop facilitated for client’s requirement in the preparatory information gathering.
It was very important that every stakeholder concerned was involved.
The assessment will be based on MSC’s fishery standards of three key principles which include:

  • Fishery must be sustainable for longer-term use,
  • Minimise environmental impacts on ecosystem and effective governance; and
  • Management systems which incorporate institutional and operational frameworks.
