Five suspects have been arrested and charged by Mt Hagen police for their alleged involvement in the killing of a security guard and seriously injuring another.
Metropolitan commander Chief Insp Peter Roari said about 10 other suspects were still at large.
Chief Insp Roari said  the five suspects were all charged with wilful murder and attempted murder.
He said they appeared before the Mt Hagen District Court yesterday for mention and were now detained at the Mt Hagen police cell.
He said police picked up some suspects last Tuesday while others were picked up on Saturday, all from Hagen Central.
He appealed to Western Highlanders to provide police with more information to arrest other suspects who were still at large.
Chief Insp Roari said  everyone must cooperate and help police arrest the other suspects because he did not want innocent Western Highlanders to suffer at the hands of relatives of the deceased and colleagues of the deceased guard in retaliation.
He said the deceased and his injured colleague were from Chuave district in Simbu province.
He said that anyone wishing to assist police in their investigation should call him directly on his office phone, 5423619, during working hours.
He also appealed to the deceased relatives to stay calm.
