FOUR women have filed their nominations to be members of the Motu-Koitabu Assembly while another is vying for the chairmanship.
The four women are Munahu Onno, Geua Kwalahu, Kori Peter Marage and Bonnie Evekone from Vabukori village in Motu Koita East.
Beatrice Mahuru is vying for the chairman’s seat.
Moresby North East Assistant returning officer Michael Are said since the writs were issued last Thursday, five women had filed their nominations.
Three men have so far filed their nomination for the chairmanship. They are Rabura Maraga, Mairi Homosi and Dadi Toka Jr.
The draw for the order of candidates will be held on Friday at the Electoral Commission office.
Are said nominations would close on Sept 6. Campaigning will continue until one day before polling.
He said common rolls were yet to be printed and they hoped to have them ready before the polling.
Are said the major setback would be the funding to run the elections but he hope the National Capital District Commission would help fund the elections.
