Fix 8-Mile roads

Letters

THIS letter was written to the National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop and Moresby North East MP John Kaupa last year and beginning of this year before schools started.
Nothing has happened so I am resending it.
My concern is about the bad road conditions at 8-Mile from the first block to the last.
While some parts of Port Moresby have improved road systems, Moresby North East road system has deteriorated, especially at 8-Mile.
This is a plea to Kaupa to urgently fix the deteriorated roads at 8-Mile.
Most PMV buses and taxis are now reluctant to provide services to this area because of the poor road conditions.
This will affect the school children.
With the recent heavy rains, the road conditions have gotten worse.
The court has dismissed the review of election petition filed by former MP Labi Amaiu so Kaupa is at liberty to provide services to his electorate.
We are challenging you to visit Moresby South and see what Justin Tkatchenko has done with his share of district services improvement programme funds.
He has done exceptionally well for Moresby South.
We urge Kaupa and Parkop to visit the mentioned roads before talking about “Amazing Port Moresby”.
We need good roads to travel to schools and jobs.
The roads need permanent upgrade.

8-Mile Resident,
Pom
