Fix Gordon market, Parkop
The National, Friday 07th December, 2012
CAN NCD Governor Powes Parkop, the man with
a million ideas, give us an idea of what he plans to do with the notorious Gordon market area?
The suburb is part of the capital city and it needs
his attention to solve the issues affecting the area.
Come up with a suitable plan to develop the mar-ket area so it will look like part of the city instead of
a pig sty.
Fix the infrastructure such as roads and pavements to make it an attractive place for investors.
Give the unused portions of land to genuine investors to build shopping malls or supermarkets.
Make the market an integral part of this plan so that it can be connected in a network with the rest of the market area.
Once the market is developed to a better standard, there will be no
room for street vendors and petty criminals because it will become a commercial hub.
I call on Parkop to bring some development projects to the city instead of decorating it with Christmas lights and giant statues that are of no use.
