Flames release champion coach

PNG Men’s Basketball League champions the Southern Flames have released their premiership-winning coach Moi Muri club president Kevin Teme said.
Teme, who did not give the specific reason for Muri’s release, said it was a management decision.
Moi Muri was with the Kutubu Security Services-sponsored club since their inception into the semi-professional competition in 2014 and guided the team to five consecutive titles.
“There are no guarantees on whether Moi will come back to coach the Flames this season,” Teme said.
“It was a management decision after consultation with the sponsor KSS last year.”
Muri, who is the women’s national coach, is understood to have had a year left on his contract.
