FLASH Muay Thai Papua New Guinea will continue the late Lee Henry Garap’s work which is to establish a children’s Muay Thai school in the country.
Garap was working on programmes that would help develop the sport.
But unfortunately, he passed away on Dec 15 while his plans were in their infancy.
Flash Muay Thai PNG manager and promoter Jerry Sarufa said on Tuesday that the legacy of Garap would live on through the sport’s development programmes in the country.
“Garap had plans to see the sport of Muay Thai kickboxing grow in PNG,” he said.
“We will make sure that those plans are fulfilled despite his passing.
“With the help of Team Flash in the likes of Glenn Armstrong and Thomas Kagili, I am sure we will make Muay Thai a successful sport in the country.
“We will incorporate a Muay Thai school for children.
“We will ensure that there is an established competition that will run throughout the year.
“The competition will include a women’s division too.
“We will continue Garap’s plans.
“Lee was in love with the sport and all he wanted was to help develop it in PNG.
“As Team Flash, we want make sure Muay Thai gets bigger.”
Sarufa said they would continue to promote Muay Thai health, discipline and fitness throughout PNG.
He said Garap had trained many individuals and had inspired many people.
