THE undefeated Hohola Flies will be taking on Sisters in the grand final match this weekend at the Lloyd Robson Oval for the first time.

Club head coach Benjamin Kaupa said that the team’s preparations for the finals had been good.

With Kaupa’s expertise and knowledge as a PNG Defence Force trainer, he said that he hopes to impart the skills and training with his club as they develop their talent in rugby league.

“The girls have picked up their game in the last two weeks of preparation but there is no doubt Sisters will come out strong against us,” Kaupa said.

Flies captain and rugby union representative Yarowena Morofa will lead the side that is hoping to win its maiden title.

Returning from the PNG Palais’ recent tour in Shanghai, China, Morofa, in the absence of skipper Cathy Neap will be leading her girls against a strong Sisters side.

Kaupa said that since their inception three years ago, the Flies women’s team had been one of the best teams in the six-team suburban competition.

Kaupa said he was grateful for the support of the rugby girls that had joined the team taking it to the finals.
