Flooded…

Flooded… Inundated homes at the Apanaipi village last Thursday on the border of Central and Gulf provinces as a result of the flooded Akufa River due to continuous heavy rains. While at Iokea village, homes and surrounding food gardens were also invaded by water which remained stagnant. The terrain in this part of the country is mostly loamy, making it hard for water to sink into the soil. As the wet season is well underway, this will be familiar experiences throughout the season around most low-lying communities in the country.
