TWO members of the Fly River provincial assembly are claiming that the recent recommendation for an acting provincial administrator was hijacked.
Two of six provincial executive council members said in a sworn affidavit that there was a special PEC meeting convened on Nov 4 recommending the suspension of the provincial administrator, William Goinau and appointment of Gul Gorgom as acting administrator.
One of them is Thomas Dugi, member representing Kiwai rural local level government and chairman of capital works and infrastructure in the provincial executive council.
Daniel Luiya, another member representing Nomad rural local level government and chairman of public services denied any knowledge of a PEC meeting convened on November 4.
They claimed the PEC decision of 4th November 2011 of a special PEC meeting was fabricated as they were not present to move a motion.
They said the only full PEC meeting of 2011 was convened at Sigabaduru village in the South Fly district in the month of October.
Meanwhile, the National Executive Council in its decision last Nov 10, suspended Goinau and appointed Gorgom as acting administrator.
The appointment has been confirmed in Gazette No. G323 last Nov 16.
