Focus on wards to move country forward

Letters

THE Government has no proper foundation.
The system of government in Papua New Guinea has disintegrated especially with the levels of government.
The lower levels of the government have always been left out in terms of service delivery and decision making.
The current system is like a government body with no feet and that is the reason why the country is not moving forward.
Our government cannot function without the ward level of governance.
The Government needs the ward level of governance to fully operate because that is where most of the population are.
We should focus on our wards in order to move this country forward.

  • I propose to DELETE from our system of government the lower levels of governments..ie: councillors, presidents, provincial governments etc….we will save money and once loose nuts and bolts of the district development mechanisms are tightened, needed projects can be delivered on the basis of equality and not along political boundaries. Again legal mechanisms have to be put in place to ensure delivery of services are non politically driven.
