Fode items available online, says inspector

THE flexible open and distance education (Fode) materials are now available online for students to access for their studies.
Lae One basic education inspector Mufuanuc Zurete said Fode students could now access and study at home or wherever they want.
Zurete manages after 12 primary schools, 32 early childhood learning centres with 285 teachers in his inspectorate in Morobe.
He said Fode education was now conducted online, thus, avoiding gatherings.
“Students can sit alone in their rooms or at home and do their studies,” he said. “The Education Department is encouraging students to access materials for grades seven to 12 subjects.
“If students feel that they are not safe in the classroom due to the coronavirus (Covid-19), they can access Fode online and do their studies.”
There are three Fode centres in Lae; the Lae Community College and Immanuel Lutheran Schools while Morobe Fode is a correspondence study centre.
